Some exciting news!

It is our pleasure to announce that Mrs. Meagan Sears has been appointed as the new Athletic Director for the Clinton Public Schools.  Mrs. Sears holds a 6th year diploma from the University of Connecticut, a masters degree in Exercise Science and Health from the California University of Pennsylvania, and a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Health from Springfield College.  Mrs. Sears comes to Clinton from the Montville Public Schools where she worked as the Athletic Director responsible for all aspects of the athletic programs at the high school and middle school.  Prior to serving in that role, Mrs. Sears was a PE/Health teacher at Haddam-Killingworth High School for 10 years and served as the Department Chairperson.  In addition, she was the head coach of the girls lacrosse and field hockey teams, as well as the Interim Athletic Director for H-K for a period of time.

The selection process involved exploring candidates’ skill set related to athletic leadership and management including budget oversight, communication, community relations, collaboration, and a vision for quality athletic programing at the middle and high school levels.  The selection committee included Board of Education members, administrative and teaching staff, coaches, student athletes, and parents.  Mrs. Sears comes to her new role in Clinton with excellent experience, background, and a commitment to providing quality athletic opportunities for students.  We are pleased to welcome Mrs. Meagan Sears to our district and our Husky family!
