Congratulations to Tarik Hasic and Kailina Olcott. Both earned Platinum Awards in the Connecticut Student Writers Contest. Their work will be published in the 2022 Connecticut Student Writers Magazine. They will also be honored at a ceremony on May 15th from 5-7 at the Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts at UConn.
Kailina won for her artwork: You're Running Out of Time Alice. Tarik won for his nonfiction essay Refugees.
We also had Zoe King and Gianna Strunjo earn honorable mention accolades for their submissions. Zoe won for her poetry submission Rag Dolls and Gianna won for her fiction piece Voices. Our students were selected from almost 2,000 entries this year.
